What's the difference between the Stellar Cross and the Custom Crystal Shift Knob?
Same drop-in hardware. Stellar Cross has our stock cross element embedded inside the diamond-cut crystal — clean, ready out of the box. The Custom Crystal Shift Knob is the bespoke version: you bring the design (initials, logo, pet, original art) and we 3D laser-engrave it inside the crystal. Same fit, same RGB, same Bluetooth pairing — just yours.
Will it fit my car?
Yes for most cars. The threaded adapter set includes M8, M10, and M12 — that covers the vast majority of manual and automatic transmissions sold in the U.S. If your car uses a push-down lift-ring or twist-lock shift, the knob still works once you remove the lock collar.
Manual or automatic?
Both. The threaded adapter system fits most stock shifters, manual or auto. See the install page for shift-type identification.
Can I run more than one?
Generally one per car — there's only one shifter. But you can keep multiples as collectibles or swap designs across cars in the driveway.
Installation
How long does install take?
About 5 minutes for most cars: remove the old knob, pick the adapter, thread on the new knob, plug in the USB cable, pair via Bluetooth. See the install page for the full step-by-step.
Will it damage my car?
No. The adapter threads onto your existing shifter shaft — no drilling, no cutting, no adhesive. To revert, unscrew the knob and the adapter, and your original shifter is back as it was.
Do I need tools?
Usually no. If your stock knob is glued (some factories do this), wrap pliers in cloth and twist firmly to release. After that, hand-tight only.
What about the wiring?
No factory wiring is touched. The knob is powered by the included dual-USB car charger plugged into your 12V (cigarette) port — or a hardwired USB outlet if you prefer cleaner routing.
The Custom Knob
How does the custom design process work?
Place your order, then email info@thesniffy.com with your order number and a reference photo, sketch, or clear description of what you want. We send back a tuned AI prompt you paste into your model of choice, then we work with the result until you say go. 3D laser engraving takes 15–20 days from design sign-off.
What designs can you do?
Initials, monograms, custom typography, original logos, pets, family crests, hand-drawn artwork. We do not engrave third-party trademarks, copyrighted characters, or anything you don't own the rights to.
Can I see a preview before you cut?
Yes. Every custom order includes unlimited design revisions, and we only engrave when you say go.
Why is the Custom Knob more expensive than the Stellar Cross?
It's made to order, not pulled from stock. The 3D laser engraving step adds time and craft per piece. You're paying for a one-of-one.
Bluetooth & RGB
How do I control the lights?
Via Bluetooth from your phone. Pair the knob once it's powered, then pick colors, patterns, and brightness.
Does it work with iOS and Android?
Yes. Standard Bluetooth pairing — no platform restrictions.
Does it remember settings between drives?
Yes. The knob holds the last color and pattern even after the car is off and back on. You only re-pair if you've changed phones or factory-reset the knob.
Shipping & returns
How long does shipping take?
Free U.S. shipping. Stellar Cross ships in 1–2 business days. The Custom Knob ships within 15–20 days from when you approve the engraving design.
What's your return policy?
Stellar Cross: 30 days from delivery, unused, in original packaging. Customer pays return shipping unless the product is defective.
Custom Knob: non-refundable except for manufacturing defects or quality issues. Once a custom design is approved and engraved, it's yours.
Warranty
What's covered?
1-year warranty on hardware: dead-on-arrival units, electrical failures inside normal operating ranges, premature LED burnout. Does not cover physical damage (drops, impacts that shatter the crystal), water damage past spec, or anything caused by an improper install.
What if my custom engraving is wrong?
If the engraving doesn't match the design you approved, we re-cut and re-ship free. Email info@thesniffy.com with your order number and a photo within 14 days of delivery.
